The invention concerns a method for detecting disorders of iron metabolism and in particular the differential diagnosis of disorders of iron metabolism by means of three independent parameters. The differential diagnosis can be used to classify disorders of iron metabolism and to recommend the required treatment and to monitor the progress and response to treatment.
The method for producing peptides, peptide mimetics and proteins is characterized in that an enzyme is used as a biocatalyst together with a peptide mimetic. The native specificity of the enzyme is modified by chemical or genetic manipulation, the substrate mimetic is a carboxyl component with an ester leaving group whose specificity determinant is adapted to the recognition site of the enzyme. The invention also concerns the trypsin variant D189K,K60E and its use as a C-N ligase in segment condensations.
The present invention is directed to an automatic chemical analytical apparatus for analyzing liquid samples. In order to provide a fully automatic transport of sample tubes containing samples to be analyzed, the apparatus includes a sample processing unit, a sample transport arrangement for transporting the sample racks from a rack supply unit to a rotatable sample rack carrier in the sample processing unit and vice versa, and a computer for controlling and coordinating the operation of the sample transport arrangement and an automatic pipetting unit. The sample processing unit includes the automatic pipetting unit and the rotatable sample rack carrier that accommodates a plurality of sample racks. Each sample rack, in turn, accommodates a plurality of sample tubes.
A system for the separation of magnetically attractable microparticles which are suspended in a liquid, which includes a magnet arrangement having at least two magnets in ring form, the magnet axis of which is oriented perpendicular to the ring plane, and the magnets are arranged above one another in the same direction or in opposite directions, and the ring inner spaces form a space for receiving a vessel. The invention also relates to methods for the separation of microparticles and to a system for the separation and suspension of microparticles in vessels including a magnet arrangement as described above and a vessel holder and a movement device for moving a vessel in the vessel holder in order to obtain a suspension of separated microparticles.
