A closing lever is provided for housing-shaped cable connectors having an upper and a lower component on one of the housing components. This closing lever operates to close both housing components in conjunction with a cam on the other housing component. This configuration ensures reliable closing without special exertion of force for the purpose of virtually automatically connecting two cables to each other.
A contact screw for conductive cores of a shielded cable, said screw being provided to be moved axially in a connecting device by threading; it has a shank with screw threading and a contact tip the section of which provided for penetration of the cable insulation and the shield is provided with a coating of insulating material, the exterior surface of the coating being provided with threading whose pitch is greater than the pitch of the screw threading of the shank.
The electrical connecting element for a connecting of fine wire cables (strands) consists of a contact pin having preferably points at both its ends and a radially projecting abutment flange on the shaft of the pin which contact pin penetrates through insulations. A shoulder between tip and shaft ensures that the pin which has been pressed in can not be torn out and the flange acts for a limiting of the depth of penetration.
An electrical terminal including a housing (1) for receiving a contact element (2) having fork-shaped receptacles and pivotable drive elements (3-6). Contact element (2) has with four receptacles (9-12) each designed to connect a conductor. The receptacles as well as the associated drive elements (3-6) are configured pairwise in two planes one above the other in order to allow as many as four connections while being of minimum bulk.
In order to achieve a high degree of protection, especially a degree of protection IP67 with the simplest possible sealing system in contacting device, a sealing ridge is provided on housing top, which cooperates with a gasket. For reliable sealing, this is preferably arranged continuously around a contact region and is forced into the preferably plate-like gasket in the installed state. During contacting of the conductors of ribbon cable, a contacting element, for example, of contact screw penetrates the gasket and in so doing displaces sealing material, which additionally contributes to sealing. The contacting device is preferably designed as an adapter for a field bus system or as a so-called "heavy rectangular plug-in connector".
