Description
CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
[0001]This application claims foreign priority under 35 U.S.C. .sctn. 119
to Chinese Patent Application no. 200720120341.8, filed May 28, 2007, the
entire contents of which are hereby incorporated by reference.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002]1. Field of the Invention
[0003]The present invention relates to a bottle and, more particularly, to
a bottle with a peripheral chamber.
[0004]2. Related Art
[0005]Existing bottles are designed with only one chamber, thus contain
only one kind of substance. In order to carry two or more different
substances separately, there needs to be two or more bottles. Such
substances, which easily produce a reaction when mingled or easily
dissolves in one or the other, require that they remain separated until
necessary for their combination. However, requiring two or more bottles
is not only costly and but also inconvenient.
[0006]For example, in order to produce a kit containing different
substances to be mixed, manufacturers would have to produce each bottle
holding the respective substance. Furthermore, the respective
specification or label regarding each substance has to be attached to
each bottle. This is not only inconvenient but also
cumbersome--especially, if the substance changes or the label needs to be
changed.
[0007]Thus, a need exists for a bottle capable of containing different
substances simultaneously.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0008]The present invention is directed to a bottle capable of containing
different substances simultaneously. An object of the present invention
is to provide a bottle with a peripheral chamber that enables a user to
carry different substances in one bottle. According to an embodiment of
the present invention, there is a bottle with a peripheral chamber
comprising a bottle body; a wall of the bottle body curving inwards,
thereby creating the chamber therein; and a cover attached to one or more
edges of the chamber for covering the chamber. The inward curve of the
wall of the bottle body can be concave or at any other angle, creating
said chamber.
[0009]According to an embodiment of the present invention, the cover is
transparent. The cover is curved to fit the angle of the bottle body. The
cover is attached to the bottle body on a movable pivot for opening and
closing the cover on the chamber. Alternatively the cover may be attached
to the bottle body by latches such that the cover may be locked into
place in a closed position or completed removed from the bottle body in
an open position. Furthermore, the wall of the bottle body comprises a
concave indentation or depression near an edge of the chamber where the
cover and wall meet, the depression shaped to accommodate the tip of a
human finger, such that the cover may be opened.
[0010]According to another embodiment of the present invention, there is a
bottle body comprising a wall concaving inwards to create a chamber
within the bottle body; an independent container with a lid, shaped and
sized to fit into the chamber, such that the container is encased inside
the chamber.
[0011]An embodiment of the present invention includes a movable pivot
connecting the container to a flange of the container lid, and the lid
and container are combined so that they are formed as a unit at a fold
line where the lid and container connect. According to another embodiment
of the present invention, the chamber is formed inside the inner wall of
the bottle body.
[0012]According to embodiments of the present invention, any viable
material, like metal or plastic may be used to manufacture the present
invention. Embodiments of the present invention include not only a
covered chamber within a bottle body, but also an independent container
with a lid shaped to fit the chamber so as to allow a user to
conveniently carry different substances at one time. The present
invention is simple in structure, easy to manufacture, and low in cost.
[0013]These and other embodiments of the present invention are further
made apparent, in the remainder of the present document, to those of
ordinary skill in the art.
